The Swedish trade journal Nätverk och Kommunikation [Network and Communication] tested a number of firewalls in their latest issue (Number 10, 2001). EnterNet FireWall 6.0, from the EnterNet Technologies was the best in the test, while facing stiff competition from world-leading firewall manufacturers such as Cisco and Checkpoint.

The firewall is the device or software in a computer network which, among other things, ensures that unauthorised persons cannot access the network. The challenge when designing a firewall is not only to make it secure, but also to make it so fast and resistant to attacks that it does not hinder the data flow in today's fast networks. Nätverk och Kommunikation's test shows that EnterNet has succeeded in combining a high level of security with complete resistance to all known attacks significantly better than the competition.

"It is flattering to come first in such a comprehensive test carried out by a trade journal. We have invested considerable resources in creating technology and products which provide the greatest possible security and which at the same time are cost-effective and easy to administrate," says Peter Johansson, CEO of EnterNet Technologies in Örnsköldsvik.

At the beginning of the year, EnterNet Technologies conducted a new share issue which brought in SEK 35 million, principally from Swedish investors such as Catella Fonder and Banco Fonder. The capital infusion will be used for continued technical development and EnterNet Technologies' international expansion. EnterNet Technologies opened a sales office in France with five employees at the start of the year, and a new office will be opened in Italy in June, also with five employees.

"We are confident about the future. There is a considerable amount of interest in our products and our unique technology," says Peter Johansson.
