Enables integration of security gateway administration with third-party applications

Clavister, a Swedish company specializing in the development of advanced IP-based security and unified threat management (UTM) solutions, today announced its launch of a software development kit (SDK) for its InControl server, which greatly improves the possibilities to integrate Clavisters security products with various business and IT systems.

Clavister InControl SDK consists of an API (Application Programming Interface), documentation and code samples for developers, allowing customers and third-party systems integra¬tors to develop integrated solutions.

Andreas Åsander, product manager at Clavister said: "IT security has become an integral part of the overall IT infrastructure and many companies strive to increase their degree of automation through the integration of safety management in the underlying systems such as billing, accounting, support and provisioning."

Clavister InControl is a centralized system for management and optimization of large populations of Security Gateways, an important tool especially in the management of geographically dispersed networks.

"Centralized management is crucial for the ability to handle large and complex networks, as it involves considerable cost," said Andreas Åsander. "Now we are taking another major step forward by making it possible to control and monitor business security systems directly from within their applications."

As examples of the new possibilities opened by InControl SDK include automatic reconfiguration of the corporate firewall when an application is made available to a new group of users.
