The new generation of Clavister's highly appreciated technology unites the advantages of a carrier-class router and the security features from a modern firewall with all the communication flexibility of a VPN concentrator.

The latest firmware is entirely built with your business in mind and provides features such as support for RADIUS Accounting, Layer 2 - Transparent mode Firewalling, Server Load balancing and a refined IPSec VPN engine capable of handling tens of thousands of simultaneous VPN tunnels with gigabit throughput.

The new version of Clavister's security firmware is mainly targeted at medium to large sized enterprizes, service providers and the telecom industry who are in need of a high-performing and reliable security gateway at an unbeatable TCO and price/performance ratio. Layer 2 - Transparent Mode Firewalling
Layer 2 - Transparent Mode ("stealth-mode") aims at simplifying the deployment of Clavister Security Gateway's into existing networks, decrease maintenance and to strengthen security.

Transparent mode helps to ease the administrative work as there is no need to reconfigure any equipment when a Clavister Security Gateway is introduced into the network communication flow.

Simply put; Transparent Mode makes the Clavister Security Gateway act as a "stealth-gateway" which is easy to deploy, invisible to the user and undetectable for intruders.

Clavister's Transparent Mode mechanism is a best-in-breed technology that includes several unique features such as the possibility to use both dynamic and static address translation, lossless learning for uninterrupted wireless roving scenarios and the possibility to configure transparent mode even when using virtual routers.

RADIUS Accounting
The extensive support for RADIUS Accounting (RFC 2865, 2866, 2867 and 2869) introduced in firmware version 8.6 securely delivers accounting information such as session time and bandwidth usage to any RADIUS compatible accounting server.

The Clavister Security Gateway has been successfully tested together with Advanced ISP billing and other market leading accounting systems that you might find running at service providers who offer Internet connections to subscribers using broadband access technology such as xDSL or WLAN.

Refined IPSec VPN engine

• Ease of Maintenance - Administration of server applications is easy as the sever farm is seen as a single virtual server by the Clients. No administration is required for real server changes, which are transparent to the external network.
