Considerable international interest in Swedish IT security companies [2001-04-17]Interest in Swedish IT security is growing, as has been demonstrated at Europe's IT trade fairs. The Swedish IT security company EnterNet Technologies' stand received many visitors at both NetSec/Comdex in Paris and CeBIT in Hanover.
"Our success at Comdex and CeBIT is further confirmation that there is considerable demand for our security products," says Peter Johansson, CEO of EnterNet Technologies. "We have been visited by potential customers, distributors and partners from all around the world, and there is particular interest in our OEM products."
In the light of increasing security-consciousness, the global market for IT security is growing markedly, and interest in EnterNet Technologies' OEM-licensed products is increasing in line with this. Using OEM technology, manufacturers of a range of products - such as network exchanges, cable TV modems and other equipment connected to networks - can integrate firewall and filtering functions directly in their hardware, so raising security at component level. The integration of security functions in products other than just firewalls is predicted to take on even greater significance in the future.
The IT security trade fair NetSec in Paris, which is part of the Comdex fair, had some 600 exhibitors this year and was visited by thousands of people. In total, Comdex had 1,600 exhibitors and 125,000 visitors, 5% of whom came from countries other than France.
Just over 8,000 exhibitors participated in this year's CeBIT trade fair in Hanover, Germany, and the fair had 830,000 visitors, compared with 782,000 the previous year. Of this year's visitors, 161,000 came from countries other than Germany, including 35,000 from Asia. << Back
